I did not really expect to like these works as much as I did when I saw them "live." I'd seen the gallery site and related what I saw to Jane Livingston's "The Paintings of Joan Mitchell" which reproduced a "Sunflowers" owned by John Cheim, and generally saw a relationship to some of my concerns in current work. Also a friend Bill Scott was associated with her and a phase of his work related to the Le Grande Vallee series. "Then, Last Time," also reproduced in Livingston, turned out being a stunning countenance to confront. Harold Klunder was there and he also was stunned and smiling, as I was.
